The Ball Sisters Band plays a wide variety of music. We are available for festivals, shows or church performances. We can play in many different formats, such as a solo fiddle for a wedding, a trio for a small party or all four members for festivals. We have won several awards, including TCMA Bluegrass Band of the Year in 1999. Randy was in the 2004 IBMA Songwriter's Showcase in Louisville, Kentucky, and won third place in the "Workin' Fools" songwriter contest in Aspen, Colorado in 2005. In 2008, Our "Dixie" had three nominations in the Southern Heritage Music Awards.
The band started with Jessica, Cris and their father Randy. John has been with us since our first public performance as a formal band at the Scott County Fiddlers convention on June 20,1998.
We combine a variety of musical influences with our tradition of mountain music to create our own sound.
