Kim is an award -winning songwriter who has had cuts by Garth Brooks, George Strait, Randy Travis, and many other top acts. His daughter Amanda is also a great writer and performer.

Two guitarists! Cris with Barry "Byrd" Burton, another cousin, July 4, 2006, Rogersville. Barry rose to fame with The Amazing Rhythm Aces, and played on records by Dan Fogelberg and Don Williams among others.
